IPAAC Conference 2026
in
Hyderabad, India
- Save the Date!

At IPAAC we have always prided ourselves on our conferences being a little bit different. The Gala Dinner in the Houses of Parliament in London 2022 will stick long in the memory. For 2026 we promise you a conference like you've never been to before. The Kanha Shanti Vanam, 45 minutes from Hyderabad Airport, is a world-leading Wellness Institute that will really put the focus on why we do what do in IPAAC – to improve the mental health and wellbeing of safety-sensitive aviation personnel.
Everything we need for a top-drawer conference is there on site, and the registration fee will include everything except accommodation. There is a variety of rooms available onsite, but the cost of even the most expensive room for the whole conference is about the same price as one night in a conventional western conference hotel. If you would like, every day can start with a complimentary yoga, meditation or wellbeing class just to get you in the mood to change the world!

We’ve set the bar high at previous IPAAC conferences for the gala dinner, and the Kanha team assure us that they will lay on a true Indian cultural spectacular for the 2026 IPAAC Gala Dinner.
More details about this remarkable venue can be found here, and their website is here. Details of the ticket pricing and accommodation options will be posted shortly, as will a call for abstracts, but for now please save the date of the 9th-13th November and start planning your trip to India. We are going to advance the field of Peer Support in Aviation in the most appropriately spectacular environment you can imagine.

Enhancing aviation performance and safety through peer assistance
What is IPAAC?
The International Peer Assist Aviation Coalition (IPAAC) is a non-profit organisation dedicated to progressing the development and implementation of Peer Support Programmes (PSPs) for all safety critical personnel in aviation.
Several very high profile accidents, such as the Germanwings 9525 crash in 2015, have shown that the impact of unaddressed mental health issues can have catastrophic effects on flight safety. In this complex area, Peer Support Programmes have been shown to offer an effective and confidential method for safety-critical personnel to ask for and receive help if they are struggling with life’s issues.
IPAAC is dedicated to promoting best practice and sharing experience and expertise from PSPs all over the world. Whilst there are a number of key elements which must form part of a successful programme, there is no ‘one size fits all’ and different cultures around the world will have different requirements to make their programmes effective. IPAAC is the global forum for such expertise.
Survey on Sim Anxiety
Paul Dickens (Core Aviation Psychology) is running a survey on sim anxiety for pilots and welcomes responses. Anonymous and confidential. Deadline is the 30th May.

IPAAC announces the new Academic Committee
The IPAAC Executive is delighted to announce the realisation of a long-held ambition to establish an Academic Committee. We are thrilled that Dr Kimberley Perkins (below) has accepted the role of Chair of this prestigious committee. She is currently assembling her team of the Great and the Good in the field and more details will be posted when the committee is fully up and running. Kimberley will be familiar to those who attended the Montreal IPAAC conference. She is the author of cutting edge research into pilot mental health, as well as being a First Officer on
the 787 for United. She will report
to Dr Billy Hoffman, IPAAC’s
Chief Scientific Advisor.
Kimberley says: I’m truly honored
to serve as Chair of the Academic
Committee. This group represents
an exciting opportunity to bring
together scholars, industry experts, and aviation professionals working at the
intersection of safety, training, mental health, and peer support. Our goal is to create a collaborative platform that aggregates existing literature, identifies critical research gaps, and translates academic insight into practical tools. Through this work, we aim to advance research that guides best practices, informs policy, and supports both safety advancement and the well-being of aviation professionals worldwide.
