IPAAC Montreal 2025
We are delighted to announce that the 2025 IPAAC Conference will be held in Montreal, Canada. Coming to the headquarters of ICAO highlights our work looking at possible definitions and standards for peer support across all aviation.
Our hosts will be the Delta Hotel right in the centre of town, and we will build on the successful format of 2024 by having up to five breakout rooms to allow for a wide agenda of presentations, panels and workshops. The Call for Abstracts is now live and the form can be accessed here.
New for 2025 will be a Pre-Conference Day of up to five standalone conference days on topics closely related to IPAAC . This will take place on Monday 10th November and should allow for a really deep dive into topics that experience has shown delegates want a lot of information about. These include peer selection and training, as well as 'Peer Support 201' – a full beginner’s guide to PSPs and their early years development. Additionally, the day will include a conference on drug and alcohol peer support programmes, the first time we believe all the major D&A programmes in the world have gathered to discuss the issues surrounding support for aviation safety-critical personnel with addiction issues.
Finally, we are very pleased that the University of North Dakota will be hosting its annual Aviation Mental Health Symposium on the Pre-Conference day. This event focusses on the provision of peer support in the vital sector of aviation training.
More details of the Pre-Conference Day will be released once the agenda has firmed up. The idea of it is to bring into one place day-long conferences which are of close interest to IPAAC and which might have happened in different locations. Many delegates who would attend such a conference are likely to attend IPAAC, so it makes sense to combine them.
The IPAAC Advisory Committee is already working on designing the full conference agenda for the 11th-13th. It will be based on a mixture of invited speakers and presentation submissions. Details of the Call for Abstracts can be found here. It promises to be a powerful event which drives the knowledge and expertise of peer support to new heights.
Oh, and the gala dinner is going to be amazing…..
